6 Page spread on Book Censorship
This editorial was designed for Typography III. The objective of the assignment was to express the content of an assigned article within the confines of a 6 page spread. The content of the article is about book censorship in American schools and the lengths special interest groups will go to censor books from children.
My concept takes the cover of Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, burn it, overlay it with type and images from Playboy magazine to make the book seem obscene, the way certain books are portrayed by the special interest groups looking to ban content based on every day human issues such as sexuality, profanity, race, religion, and gender. I also chose to splash ink suggestively from page to page. Top to bottom, the ink splashes lead the reader through the article.
